Wedding Video: Starting Your Own Video Business

Wedding Video: Starting Your Own Wedding Video Business

synopsis by: Jerome J.

Wedding Videography is one business that is becoming to be popular nowadays and this business only requires a small amount with one of the major equipment used is a professional Video equipment.  This equipment should be an HD  quality video with three chip camcorder.  This kind of equipment is highly recommended because of the quality of video it produces and of course the important thing is the features it carries with it. Quality HD camcorders is better used in outdoor shooting and has a good low light performance.

There are two kinds of camcorder that is available in the market.  One is the mounted camera and the other one is the handheld camera.  That mounted type of camcorder is of course when used is mounted on top of your shoulder so that it would not be tiring for the one using it for several hours because its weight is very well distributed throughout your body.  The handheld camcorder otherwise is much smaller, lighter in weight and very portable. Both equipments does not have really much difference, so it remains on what is the personal preference of the user.

Other equipments aside from the camera is the tripod and the reflector.  The tripod is used during stationary footage of an event so as to give much stability and the reflector is for light supplement purposes.

A videographer also needs other concerns such as business licenses and sales contracts.  Having a business license gives an impression to the customers that they are dealing with a professional videographer and tend to be comfortable in dealing with you.  Being prepared and on every transaction you have a sales contract to put your contract into a formal agreement. It could help out by stressing the scope of your agreement.

In order for the videographer to have more deals and closing more transactions quickly is for him to have price packages as well as video samples of weddings that he had covered before. It is best that on one meeting you could already present everything as well as answer all their concerns relative to their wedding day.

Make sure to collect an upfront non-refundable payment from the client in closing the contract and inform them on until where their advance payment covers.  It would be best if you could collect the whole and final amount before the wedding day.

Finally be familiar with the wedding planner before the wedding day and the DJ for the reception.  You have to be aware of the activities being lined up for the wedding day.
